Richard Moskal fonds

Photographs, maps, a diary, and various objects from Richard Moskal’s research expedition to Ellef Ringnes Island and the Melville Peninsula in the Qikiqtaaluk Region in Nunavut. The expedition was run by the Geographic Branch of the Department of Mines and Technical Surveys of Canada. The purpose was to take aerial photographs and perform research on the topography and geography of the land. More information on the background and contents of this series are found in Box 1 Folder 1. Richard Moskal acted as Project Assistant as a student from Western University in London, Ontario.

Brigden Family fonds

The collection consists of letters, diaries, family photographs dating from the 1880s, business papers and other memorabilia pertaining to the Brigden family and the Brigden graphic arts firm. Items include letters from a number of important Canadian artists. Also described here is memorabilia concerning the Rev. Thomas Brigden and Kingswood School; Cornelius Fielder; and the Winnipeg Community Players.

The records of Exhibits which include the creation of associated catalogues; the records of Extension Services; records of Gallery Registration. Other records relating to Curatorial/Exhibitions as may be selected for permanent preservation.

Studio Programs fonds

Studio Programs is found under the division title of Education and Public Programs. This department offers a wide variety of art courses to adults, seniors, teens and children, Offering programs year round, these classes are taught by experienced, practicing artists. The artist-in-residence program is also found within this department. Classes are offered in a variety of subjects and levels of experience from Beginner to Advanced. Special courses and workshops are also scheduled to complement specific exhibitions. As well scholarships are available and awarded to individuals who show ability in art and who are otherwise financially unable to attend the programs. This fonds was originally a subseries for the Education and Public Programs sous-fonds.

Charles Comfort fonds

Fonds consists of two documents. The first is a transcript of a taped interview of Charles Comfort by Charles Hill dating from 1960. The second document consists of excerpts from Charles Comfort’s address as President of the Royal Academy of Arts at the Winnipeg Art Gallery in 1973.
