Archival history
The exhibition “Sculpture/Inuit: Masterworks of the Canadian Arctic” was organised by the Canadian Eskimo Arts Council (CEAC) as a vehicle to showcase Inuit art internationally. While the exhibition toured from 1971 to 1973, planning for the exhibition began several years earlier. Cities visited by the exhibition included Vancouver, Paris, Copenhagen, Leningrad, Moscow, London, Philadelphia, and Ottawa. Sharon Van Raalte served as exhibition coordinator and George Swinton acted as a consultant in the selection of works for the exhibition.
