Fondo - Extension Services fonds

Extension Services was a department which organized and oversaw the WAG's touring exhibitions. It was considered a part of the Curatorial Department until the mid 1970s, then under the Education Department until 1984, then returned under the Curatorial Department. Extension Services was then dissolved in 2005.

This fonds contains records of the Coordinator of Extension Services, and exhibition records.

Arrangement of the Extension records for the years 1967 to 1984 was idiosyncratic, therefore order has been imposed upon the
fonds. Exhibition Files have been organized by fiscal year, using the approximate date of the beginning of the tour as it can be determined. Within the fiscal year, files are placed into alphabetical order by name of exhibition. Where a single artist is the subject of an exhibition, the artist’s surname determines the placement. “The” in an exhibition title is ignored.
